Terms of Service
The rules for accounts, AI services, billing, refunds, content, and account enforcement
1. Agreement and Eligibility
These Terms govern your access to FigEditor websites, applications, AI-generation tools, editing tools, storage, sharing, subscriptions, and credits. FigEditor is operated by the legal person identified at checkout and on your payment receipt. By creating an account, purchasing a product, or using the service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use FigEditor for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Service and AI Models
FigEditor provides software for creating, editing, organizing, exporting, and sharing scientific figures, illustrations, posters, diagrams, flowcharts, and related files. Features may use third-party AI and infrastructure providers, including OpenAI models, Google Gemini and Nano Banana models, Seedream, OpenRouter, KIE, and other providers shown in the product interface.
AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, unexpected, or unsuitable for publication. You must review scientific labels, relationships, data, permissions, journal requirements, and factual claims before relying on or publishing an output.
3. Accounts and Security
You must provide accurate account and billing information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify support@figeditor.ai of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. You may not share, sell, or transfer account access.
4. Inputs, Outputs, and Intellectual Property
You retain the rights you hold in prompts, documents, images, and other materials you submit. You grant FigEditor a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, and modify those materials only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.
Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use generated outputs for lawful purposes. AI outputs may resemble existing material and may not qualify for intellectual-property protection. You are responsible for confirming that your inputs and use of outputs do not violate copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, employment, institutional, or publisher rules.
5. Plans, Credits, and Payment Authorization
FigEditor offers recurring subscription plans and separately purchased credit packages. Current prices, included credits, billing periods, and feature limits appear on the Pricing page and at checkout. By starting a subscription, you authorize the payment provider to charge the applicable fee at each monthly or annual renewal until you cancel. Each credit-package purchase is a separate one-time transaction authorized at checkout.
Payments may be processed by Waffo Pancake, Stripe, PayPal, or another provider identified at checkout. Prices exclude taxes unless checkout states otherwise. The payment provider may collect and remit taxes as required.
6. Credit Validity and Consumption
Credits included with a subscription expire 30 days after each monthly allocation and do not roll over beyond that validity period. Separately purchased credit-package balances do not expire unless checkout states a different period. FigEditor consumes credits that expire sooner before credits with a later or no expiration date.
Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and may only be used for FigEditor services. A failed generation normally returns the credits reserved for that task. A credit return for a failed task is not a refund of the original payment.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel a subscription through Settings, Billing, and Manage Subscription, or through the payment-provider portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless checkout or applicable law states otherwise. Cancellation does not refund prior charges and does not cancel separately purchased credits.
8. Refund Policy
To request a refund, email support@figeditor.ai from your account email and include the transaction ID and reason. We aim to acknowledge requests within two business days and decide complete requests within five business days. Approved refunds return to the original payment method; the provider and bank control the final posting time. FigEditor may remove unused credits granted by a refunded payment.
- First subscription purchase: request a full refund within seven days if you have used no more than 10% of the credits allocated for that billing period.
- Credit packages: request a full refund within seven days only if none of the purchased credits have been used.
- Used credits, renewal charges after the applicable refund window, and partially consumed credit packages are non-refundable except where law requires otherwise.
- Duplicate charges, confirmed billing errors, and charges taken after an effective cancellation qualify for correction or refund.
- Mandatory consumer cancellation, withdrawal, and refund rights remain available where applicable.
9. Billing Disputes
Contact support@figeditor.ai before filing a payment dispute so we can investigate the charge. This request does not limit any right you have under card-network rules or applicable law. We may suspend access to disputed credits while a dispute is pending and correct account balances after the provider issues a decision.
10. Acceptable Use
You must use FigEditor lawfully and follow the Acceptable Use Policy. The Policy prohibits pornography and NSFW content, violence and gore, hate speech, child-unsafe content and CSAM, deceptive deepfakes and impersonation, and copyright or trademark infringement. It also explains safety controls, reporting, appeals, and enforcement.
11. Reports and Enforcement
AI providers used by FigEditor may apply their own safety controls. FigEditor investigates user reports and may manually review relevant content and account activity when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove content, warn you, restrict features, suspend or terminate the account, reclaim credits connected to abuse, preserve evidence, or report suspected unlawful conduct. Severe or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without notice.
12. Privacy and Data
The Privacy Policy explains how FigEditor collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects data. Do not upload confidential, personal, patient, or unpublished research material unless you have authority and a lawful basis to process it. Inputs and outputs may be sent to the AI and storage providers needed for the feature you choose; account and transaction data may also be processed by analytics and payment providers.
13. Service Availability and Changes
The service is provided as is and as available. We may change models, features, limits, prices, or integrations, and we may interrupt the service for maintenance, security, provider outages, or legal reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation. Price or subscription changes apply prospectively with any notice required by law.
14. Term and Termination
These Terms remain effective while you use FigEditor. You may deactivate your account through Settings or contact support. We may suspend or terminate an account for a material breach, suspected fraud, safety risk, non-payment, legal requirement, or conduct that harms users, providers, or the service.
If FigEditor terminates a paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, we will provide any refund required by law and may provide a proportional refund for an unused prepaid period. Accounts terminated for a violation do not qualify for discretionary refunds. We may retain billing, security, support, and legal records after deactivation as described in the Privacy Policy.
15. Disclaimers and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FigEditor disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of profits, publication rejection, or decisions made from AI output. FigEditor's aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
16. General Terms and Contact
The laws and courts applicable to the legal operator identified at checkout govern these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may update these Terms and will post the revised date on this page.
