Question 1

What is the difference between a subscription and a credit pack?

Accepted Answer

A subscription renews monthly or yearly and grants a new credit allowance while active. A credit pack is a one-time purchase whose credits never expire. Both count as paid access, including watermark-free downloads and advanced figure tools; only the renewal schedule, credit expiration, and plan-specific commercial terms differ.

Question 2

How are credits charged when I create or edit a figure?

Accepted Answer

Credit cost depends on the tool, image model, resolution, and operation you choose. FigEditor shows the required amount in the workspace before generation starts, allowing you to compare options and confirm the charge before submitting a new figure or edit.

Question 3

What happens to unused credits?

Accepted Answer

Subscription credits are valid for 30 days from each monthly grant, so each new allowance has its own expiration date. Credits purchased through a one-time pack do not expire. Your account balance shows available credits, while Billing provides the current plan and purchase details.

Question 4

Can I try FigEditor before paying?

Accepted Answer

New accounts receive 20 free credits, which can be used to try the scientific figure workflow before choosing a paid plan. The number of generations available depends on the selected tool, model, resolution, and operation because those choices can have different credit costs.

Question 5

How is my payment information handled?

Accepted Answer

Checkout is handled by Stripe or PayPal, depending on the payment option you select. Payment details are submitted to the chosen provider, and FigEditor does not store your full card number. Review the provider’s checkout information before confirming a purchase.

Question 6

What happens if a generation fails?

Accepted Answer

When FigEditor records a generation task as failed, the credits charged for that task are automatically returned to your account balance. If the balance does not update as expected, contact support with the task details so the transaction can be reviewed.

Question 7

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Accepted Answer

Open Billing in your account settings to manage or cancel your subscription through the relevant payment provider. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, and credits keep their original expiration dates. Cancellation prevents the next renewal rather than removing the current paid period.

Question 8

Can I request a refund for a purchase?

Accepted Answer

Failed generations are handled with an automatic credit return. For a payment refund, contact support with your account and transaction details. Requests are reviewed according to the purchase, applicable terms, and payment provider rules; approved refunds may remove credits granted by that payment.
